2023 US Hard Enduro Round 4 Snake Bite

Round 4 of the 2023 US Hard Enduro championship brought us to Lubbock, Texas for the Snakebite Hard Enduro. The unique nature of Snakebite is that the race combines elements of hare scrambles in the beginning and ends with the Nine Hills which are a series of gnarly hill climbs and descents that will break even the toughest rider’s will.

Will Riordan climbing one of the Nine Hills of Snake Bite Hard Enduro aboard his KTM 300XC-W. Riordan would eventually earn his first US Hard Enduro win and establishing himself as one of the best riders in championship.

Will Riordan picked up his first career US Hard Enduro Pro Class victory after a gritty ride at the Snake Bite. He did benefit from a mechanical problem suffered by Factory One Sherco rider Cody Webb. Webb’s chain derailed right after the start, so he was forced to push his bike back to the pits, make the requisite repair and return to the race in last place. From that point on, Webb systematically picked his way through the entire field before finishing runner-up to Riordan. Third place in the Pro class would go to Rockstar Husqvarna’s Colton Haaker.

Cody Webb went into the Snake Bite Hard Enduro as the favorite to win the race. Unfortunately, his chain popped off right after the start and that left the door wide open for the other Pro Class racers to battle each other for the win.

In the Youth Lites class, Ethan Hutchison finished first aboard his Beta 250RR, claiming his third race win in four races. Defending class champion Kael Widdicombe was runner-up aboard the HTR Racing GasGas 250 and third place went to Mikey Udell Jr. on his 85cc Husqvarna.
