2021 Honda CBR1000RR-R First Look

The 2021 Honda CBR1000RR-R is a purpose built superbike aimed right at the World Superbike championship. After years of watching the Italians and now Kawasaki dominate the championship, it looks like Honda just got serious about winning again.
At the heart of the 2021 Honda CBR1000RR-R is an all new engine 999cc engine that is lighter and more compact than any RR engine ever built. It features a 81mm bore and 48.55mm stroke with a combustion chamber that is identical to the RC213V-S GP replica.

Lighter, faster and easier to ride. It has worked for Honda since the CBR900RR and it will work for the 2021 CBR1000RR-R as well.

A four piece twin spar aluminum frame that is, thinner, 10-percent lighter and uses the rear of the engine as a shock pivot point which Honda claims isolates the input from the rear wheel better and improves traction. Babba-san would be proud.
The 2021 Honda CBR1000RR-R will be the most technologically advanced CBR ever built. In addition to a full compliment of rider assist features it is also equipped with Ohlins semi-active suspension front and rear. A Honda Pro-Link swingarm and gas charged shock are all managed by the Ohlins Smart EC 2.0 Logic system.
Take a close look at the layered side fairings. They have become all the rage in MotoGP and it has trickled down to the 2021 CBR1000RR-R Honda has determined the winglets create enough down force to reduce the bike’s tendency to wheelie, improve cornering capability as well. The front fender has convex surfaces that direct wind into the radiator.
The 2021 Honda CBR1000RR-R is a damn good looking motorcycle. The bodywork is ultra-trick and is a step in the right direction as far as we are concerned. The bike will come equipped with Bridgestone Battlax RS-11 tires (120/70-17 front and 200/55-17 rear).
